Clofazimine, a water insoluble substituted iminophenazine derivative with anti-mycobacterial and anti-inflammatory activity, is recommended by the WHO for the treatment of leprosy. It is also active against disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease in HIV-infected patients.
