Wydział BiologiiCelem badań było poznanie przystosowań morfologicznych i anatomicznych igieł sosny zwyczajnej do siedlisk o niskich temperaturach. Analiza materiału zebranego w transekcie geograficznym in situ wykazały, że zmienność cech anatomicznych igieł jest silnie skorelowana z warunkami klimatycznymi, zwłaszcza ze średnią temperaturą roczną oraz minimalną w badanych lokalizacjach. Obniżeniu temperatury towarzyszyło m.in. nasilenie cech anatomicznych wzmacniających odporność układu hydraulicznego na embolizację oraz zwiększających ochronę igieł przed atakami roślinożerców. Porównanie korelacji cech igieł z temperaturą miejsca pochodzenia materiału zebranego z drzew dorosłych w transekcie i z drzew uprawianych w warunkach doświadczenia...
