The purpose of this study is to systematically study the internal strains induced by cation replacements in the High Temperature Superconductors of YBa2Cu3Oy system in an attempt to correlate any structural differences with other physical properties, thus leading to a better understanding of these systems.Of particular interest in this regard are the mixed compounds of formula R1+xR'xBa2Cu3Oy, where R and R' are Y or rare earth.
