Early diagnosis and contemporary advanced cancer treatment modalities have increased the 5year survival rate of childhood cancer survivors. This increase is associated with a linear increase in the percentage of children (60-90%) that present with at least one late effect of the antineoplastic treatment (Oeffinger et al. 2006, Blaauwbroek et al. 2007).
