The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of experimental Toxoplasma gondii infection on ram sperm quality. Thirty-two five months old, pre-pubertal, rams were divided into 4 groups (n=8 per group). Group A was the control group; the remaining three groups (B, C, D) received per os 5000 mature oocysts of T. gondii. Group C received sulphadimidine (33 mg/kg; i.m. every 48h for 8 days) two months post-infection (p.i.) and Group D received the same drug twice (24h p.i. and 2 months later). Group B did not receive treatment. Blood samples were collected every 15 days to detect serum immunoglobulin IgG (ELISA).
