Analysis of Financial Statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP compared to Financial Statements prepared in accordance with IFRS Standards

This thesis is focused on the comparison of financial statements, that were prepared in accordance with US GAAP compared to financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS standards. The theoretical part includes the history of forming IFRS and US GAAP accounting systems and the structure of their organizations. This part is also describing fundamental differences in the reporting of financial statements based on different accounting standards. In a practical part, the structure and content of financial statement were analyzed in order to find differences, that can be met by user. The main purpose of this work is to present and comment the differences between IFRS and US GAAP based on current existing accounting standards.Diplomová práce je zaměřena na porovnání účetních závěrek, sestavených v souladu s US GAAP oproti účetním závěrkám, sestavených podle standardů IFRS. Teoretická část práce zahrnuje historii vzniku účetních systémů IFRS a US GAAP, strukturu organizací a stejně tak popisuje zásadní rozdíly ve vykazování jednotlivých položek účetních výkazů mezí danými účetními systémy. V praktické části je provedena analýza struktury a obsahu účetních závěrek reálných společností s cílem nalezení případných rozdílů, se kterými může setkat uživatel účetní závěrky. Hlavním cílem práce je uvedení a okomentování rozdílů ve vykazování účetních závěrek na základě aktuálních standardů IFRS oproti US GAAP
