Linguistic Landscape in Public Places in Makassar and Visitors’ Language Attitude

The result of this study showed the top-down and bottom-up types were found in public places, Panakkukang Mall and Fort Rotterdam. But there was no dominant use of type linguistic landscape in either place. Top-downs are found in Fort Rotterdam, while bottom-ups are found in Panakkukang Mall. This happens because it sees the function of each type of linguistic landscape. This study also found the result from visitor's language attitude, positive attitudes given by respondents to researcher. It means that, respondent accepts the presence of foreign languages around them
