Electrical transmission lines is one of the most important stage in electrical power systems, because it is responsible for carrying electrical energy from the generation to the sub-transmission stage and subsequently to be distributed. The applications of the SVC FACTS on the bars of the electric power system are varied; these devices allow us to modify the power flow in power system, in order to maximize the capacity of the transmission lines; locating these reactive power compensating elements has a high cost, so it is necessary to locate them optimally and intelligently, in order to make the investment feasible.
