Relations between mass media elites and politics - theoretical and practical reflection

Connections between elites deriving from the sphere of mass media and from the sphere of politics constitute an important area of current relations between a political system and the media system in a democratic state and society. The author attempts to outline a theoretical and practical dimension of these relations. Therefore, he defines the notion of media elites, journalist elites and political elites while presenting the state of research into the level of awareness of these elites regarding their mutual relations in Poland and Germany. He concludes by formulating research questions, which are crucial for a determination of the condition and character of relations between these two elites
