With the use of the hermeneutic analysis of academic texts and of critical theory the Internet has been presented as a social and cultural research space in social sciences. The most important features of global network have been characterized and such aspects have been discussed that are studied in the framework of ethnographical and anthropological research in our institute, namely communication process and its semiotic character, a creation of social networks, virtual groups of self-help for stigmatized people, sharenting and activity of children and youth on the Internet
