Campagne GPS/GNSS dans le Briançonnais du 29 juin au 8 juillet 2021 : mise à niveau du bipied destiné à supporter l'antenne AS10 sur le site ARV

From June 29 to July 8, 2021, a large GPS/GNSS measurement campaign was conducted in the Briançon area (Haute Alpes) in addition to the continuous monitoring operated within the framework of the permanent national GNSS network (Résif-Rénag). During this campaign, 24 antennas and as many digitizers of the Résif-GPSMob national network were deployed.The Briançonnais network is a particularly dense GPS/GNSS pilot network (about 30 sites over an area of about 375 km2 around Briançon) for measuring the deformation of the French Alps in its most seismic zone. It was measured in 1996, 2006, 2011 and 2016 during campaigns led by the ISTerre laboratory in Grenoble.This campaign has thus extended the time series over a period of 25 years, which is exceptional and will allow us to obtain evaluations of low deformation rates (of a few tenths of a mm/year across the network) with even greater precision.The operation mobilized 27 people for 10 days and collected nearly 3800 hours of recordings. These 10 GB of data will be used for 3 years by the scientific community that conducted the campaign before being opened to all.The instruments used are from the GPSMob mobile fleet, integrated into the French seismological and geodesic network Résif, a national research infrastructure dedicated to the observation and understanding of the structure and dynamics of the Internal Earth. Résif is based on high-tech observation networks, composed of seismological, geodetic and gravimetric instruments deployed in a dense manner throughout France. The data collected make it possible to study with high spatial and temporal resolution the deformation of the ground, surface and deep structures, seismicity on a local and global scale and natural hazards, and more particularly seismic events, on French territory. Résif is part of the European (Epos - European Plate Observing System) and global systems of instruments used to image the Earth's interior as a whole and to study many natural phenomena.The picture shows the installation phase of the instruments on the ARV site, above the village of Villargaudin. Here we see the bipod, a kind of compass which supports the AS10 antenna whose foot must be absolutely vertical. The two operators use a spirit level to ensure that the two arms of the compass are horizontal, a necessary condition for the verticality of the foot. The instruments used are from the GPSMob mobile fleet, integrated into the French seismological and geodesic network Résif, a national research infrastructure dedicated to the observation and understanding of the structure and dynamics of the Internal Earth. Lors de cette campagne, 24 antennes et autant de numériseurs du parc national Résif-GPSMob ont été déployés.Le réseau du Briançonnais est un réseau pilote GPS/GNSS particulièrement dense (une trentaine de sites sur une superficie d’environ 375 km2 autour de Briançon) pour mesurer la déformation des Alpes françaises dans sa zone la plus sismique. Il a été mesuré en 1996, 2006, 2011 et 2016 lors de campagnes pilotées par le laboratoire ISTerre à Grenoble.Cette campagne a ainsi permis de prolonger les séries temporelles sur une durée de 25 ans, ce qui est exceptionnel et permettra d'obtenir des évaluations des faibles taux de déformation (de quelques dixièmes de mm/an à travers le réseau) avec des précisions encore affinées.L'opération a mobilisé 27 personnes pendant 10 jours et a permis de recueillir près de 3800 heures d’enregistrement. Ces 10 Go de données seront exploitées durant 3 ans par la communauté scientifique ayant conduit la campagne avant d’être ouvertes à tous.La photo montre la phase d’installation des instruments sur le site ARV, au-dessus de la commune de de Villargaudin. On voit ici le bipied, sorte de compas qui supporte l’antenne AS10 dont le pied doit être absolument vertical. Les deux opératrices s’assurent à l’aide d’une niveau à bulle de l’horizontalité des deux bras du compas, condition nécessaire à cette verticalité du pied d’antenne.Les instruments utilisés sont issus du parc mobile GPSMob, intégré au Réseau sismologique et géodésique français Résif, une infrastructure de recherche nationale dédiée à l’observation et la compréhension de la structure et de la dynamique Terre interne. Résif se base sur des réseaux d’observation de haut niveau technologique, composés d’instruments sismologiques, géodésiques et gravimétriques déployés de manière dense sur tout le territoire français. Les données recueillies permettent d’étudier avec une haute résolution spatio-temporelle la déformation du sol, les structures superficielles et profondes, la sismicité à l’échelle locale et globale et les aléas naturels, et plus particulièrement sismiques, sur le territoire français. Résif s’intègre aux dispositifs européens (Epos - European Plate Observing System) et mondiaux d’instruments permettant d’imager l’intérieur de la Terre dans sa globalité et d’étudier de nombreux phénomènes naturels
