International audienceIn this issue, the RAC relays an open letter from a group of academics and publishes a translated article from one of them, Domenico Fiormonte, on the consequences of the use of proprietary digital platforms for distance learning. This collective calls for a discussion on the future of education and the creation of public digital infrastructures, urging to diversify digital systems, to multiply alternative models and to support a technodiversity that is essential for the survival of our societies. These academics raise two major problems with digital educational platforms that I want to address in my commentary: property and surveillance.
