This retrospective study included 29 hearing impaired children with severe to profound binaural congenital deafness. They received cochlear implants (CI) before age of 18 months and were divided into 2 groups of age of CI. Results show no statistical differences for CAP and SIR scales, and MAIS and MUSS questionnaries scores between the 2 groups. Auditory and linguistic performances follow the same developmental trajectory.Very early implantation, associated with speeh and langage reeducation and a good partnership with parents, is recommanded to target normal hearing children of same age.
