Background: Skin in people with psoriasis has been comprehensively studied; uninvolved skin has abnormal gene expression. Less is known specifically about skin in PsA, the assumption being that it is identical to psoriasis. Chemokines and ACKR2 are among the upregulated genes in uninvolved psoriasis compared to healthy skin[1]. ACKR2 is a scavenging receptor of inflammatory CC chemokines and has been proposed as a regulator of cutaneous inflammation in psoriasis. It has not been studied in PsA.
