A FAUNA DE CHIRONOMIDAE (DIPTERA) EM DIFERENTES BIÓTOPOS AQUÁTICOS NA SERRA DO SUBAIO (TERESÓPOLIS, RJ)

The composition and the distribution of chironomid larvae in an aquatic system of the Serra do Subaio (Mata Atlântica) were studied. The following biotopes were investigated: in the marsh, aquatic macrophytes, litter and sediment: in the darn, submerged moss, litter and sediment: waterfall rock; litter attached to stones. The Chironorninae and Tanypodinae were mainly found in depositional zones, and the Orthocladiinae were principally observed in erosional zones. Some taxa were exclusive for a substrate type such as Goeulichironomus and Zavreliella (litter in the marsh), and also Rheotanytarsus (waterfall rock). The "collectors" group were dominant into each biotope. The "shredders" were more observed in substrates with a significant presence of detritus, while "predators" occurred preferentially in depositional zones. The chironomid larvae composition and distribution beared a close relationship to current velocity, organic matter particulation and food resource supply.Foram estudadas a composição e distribuição das larvas de Chironomidae em um ambiente aquático na Serra do Subaio (Mata Atlântica). Os seguintes biótopos foram estudados: no brejo, macrófitas aquáticas, litter e sedimento; em represa, musgo em pedra, litter e sedimento; pedra em cachoeira; litter de correnteza. Os Chironominae e Tanypodinae foram mais encontrados em áreas de depósito, e os Orthocladiinae em áreas de erosão. Alguns grupos foram exclusivos de um tipo de substrato, como Gneldichironomus e Zavreliella (litter em brejo), e Rheotanytarsus (pedra em cachoeira). A categoria dos coletores predominou em todos os biótopos. O grupo dos retalhadores foi mais observado onde havia a presença de matéria orgânica em decomposição, enquanto que os predadores ocorreram sobretudo nas áreas de baixa correnteza. A composição da fauna de Chironomidae nesse ambiente está relacionada com a dinâmica da correnteza, a particulação da matéria orgânica e a oferta de recurso alimentar
