[Diary of Adolf Dolu Rawitz 1914-1918 : from Lwow to Vienna, as officer in the Austrian army].

In his handwritten diary, Adolf Rawitz describes in detail his war experiences as an officer in the Austrian army during World War I, and his critial attitude towards the war. Most of the letters included are addressed either to his close friend Willy or to Ilse, a woman with whom he was emotionally involved, but who did not respond in kind. As the diary progresses, entries become less and less frequent and are interspersed with personal and philosophical thoughts and comments. In late 1918, during an Italian attack, Rawitz is taken prisoner. He also senses some anti-Semitism from the Polish military.
