The choice of the SFR (Sodium Fast Reactor) approach by France has led to the realization of a fourth-generation prototype called ASTRID. The development of this type of reactor presents several challenges, in particular from the point of view of improving the demonstration of safety and monitoring of operation. The latter requires, among other things, the characterization of the liquid sodium gas (presence of gas microbubbles). The characterization of the gas packing is the object of this study, it implies the determination of the void rate (volume fraction of gas) and of the histogram of the radii of the microbubbles.
