International audiencePesticides efficiency is assessed under a damage control specification and an adaptation to the stochastic frontier framework. The results reveal a lower level of efficiency about 67% implying that pesticides levels can be reduced by about 33% while maintaining the farmer’s revenues unchanged. The corresponding level of damage control is around 50% while an efficient use of pesticides can level up the damage control to about 63%. On another hand CAP subsidy received by producer appear to have a positive impact on pesticides efficiency. We have also control for the role of crop diversification entropy on the damage control. The results show an average negative effect of crop diversification though 30% of the observation...
