Objective: To determine whether elevated levels of the inflammatory markers interleukin 6 (IL-6), interleukin 8 (IL-8) and insulin – like growth factor-1 are associated with development of type 2 DM in Iraqi sample.Methods: A total number of 150 samples in this study, including 75 diabetes mellitus patients and 75 healthy people (control) This study was conducted from August 2016 to February 2017.
