La coloration joue souvent un rôle essentiel dans la survie et la reproduction des individus. En raison de ce rôle, son évolution est déterminée par des pressions sélectives multiples et souvent opposées. Cela en fait un trait intéressant pour comprendre le détail des processus qui façonnent l'évolution des phénotypes. L’objectif de mon doctorat était d’identifier les différentes forces sélectives qui façonnent l'évolution de la coloration et de comprendre comment l'évolution de la coloration pouvait influencer les processus de diversification.
