Les protéines membranaires (PMs) présentes à la surface des cellules vivantes font partie d'une classe centrale du protéome cellulaire. Elles sont impliquées dans de nombreux processus biologiques tels que les infections virales ou la réponse immunitaire cellulaire. Produire ces protéines est une tâche difficile en raison de leur instabilité une fois extraites de leur membrane d’origine.
