L’utilisation des robots industriels pour la réalisation des opérations d’usinage, de meulage ou de rectification devient une nécessité. Or, la robotisation des procédés du meulage se heurte à plusieurs obstacles qui apparaissent surtout lors du meulage des pièces de grandes dimensions. La robotisation du procédé nécessite aussi la définition d'une méthodologie efficace de planification de la trajectoire du robot.
