This data set includes 5 sprawl indicators (increase in urban area, density of dwellings, fragmentation, dispersion and irregularity) calculated for 63 portuguese medium cities for the period between 2001 and 2011 and includes a series of variables related with the causes of sprawl including sociodemographic, economic, commuting, accessibility, policy and geography variable
