The Adjustable Light Beam for Assessment of Size Estimation Accuracy: Description, Psychometrics, and Normative Data

Investigated an adjustable light beam apparatus for the assessment of size estimation accuracy. Detailed description of the apparatus and psychometric and normative data are presented. Normative data on 159 17–35 yr old females indicate that Ss overestimate the size of their waist, hips, and thighs; average overestimation is 21%. Alpha coefficient and test–retest reliability indices were within desirable limits.
