Narratology: what a state…

In the 30th edition of the journal Questions de communication, narratologist Raphaël Baroni explains that, after its heyday between 1965 and 1975, narratology has since become “relatively stagnant”. This evaluation is in stark contrast with the “narrative turning point” of the 80s and the outpouring of narrative forms that followed. To discuss his proposals, seven researchers from different disciplines, including literature, cultural studies, linguistics, as well as information and communication sciences, have attempted to understand the organization of narrative studies and the way that they have developed within the wider contemporary world of knowledge and social practices.
