This collection consists of typescripts and summaries of interviews collected by Winthrop graduate and Buford High School teacher Elizabeth C. Smith during the 1990s. The students were tasked with interviewing persons’ (usually family members) experiences during the Great depression or during World War II. The interviewees discuss what life was like living during the Great Depression and what life was like at home during World War II and what life was like fighting in World War II. This collection will be valuable for any person researching the experiences of everyday people during to these two seminal events during the 21st Century.https://digitalcommons.winthrop.edu/manuscriptcollection_findingaids/2653/thumbnail.jp
