From the results of a survey carried out on the urban renewal program of Clichy-sous-Bois /Montfermeil, this article examines the effects, for the inhabitants, of the placement, displacement, and re-placement logics within the inhabited space, incurred by this policy. Based on the analysis of their initial living situations, the goal is not only to study the types of housing and what sort of residential space they can have access to, but also to understand how they adapt to their new environment. Namely, the analysis takes the example of the residents (former owners and tenants) of a degraded private joint-ownership property, relocated within the same city, but in the social housing stock of newly constructed buildings.
