Outbreak of World War II in Poland; forced labor in Siberia; return to Poland and emigration to Australia and USA after World War II.Frieda Rosenwasser (née Schwarz) was born in Eichenau (Upper Silesia) in 1904. She moved with her family to Beuthen (Byton) in 1912. After the Nazi seizure of power, she moved to Tarnowitz (Poland). She survived the war in Siberia where her 20-year old son died. In 1946 she returned to Poland and emigrated to Australia.
