Activities as a judge in Berlin until 1933 and as legal advisor of Jewish organizations after 1933; experiences in Sachsenhausen concentration camp 1938.The memoir was written as part of the Harvard University competition.Fritz Goldschmidt was born in Breslau in 1893 to Alfred Goldschmidt, a co-founder of the Jewish student fraternity "Viadrina" and secretary general of the German section of the Bnei Brith lodge. Fritz Goldschmidt was a Landgerichtsrat between 1926 and 1933. In 1933 he became a legal advisor of the Centralverein and the Reichsvertretung. After his imprisonment in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp he emigrated to England in 1939.
