International audienceAfter a brief inventory of ten French and Occitan texts which mention a lost 12th century poem, the 'Apoloines', itself a translation of the late antique 'Historia Apollonii regis Tyri', the fragments of this long lost poem, recently reedited, are compared to the Latin text. Thereafter, following a hypothesis advanced by M. Delbouille, the author compares three late medieval French translations of the 'Historia' (preserved in three manuscripts in Vienna, Brussels and Florence), in order to identify the probable literary heir of the lost 12th century 'Apoloines'.
