Discussions of the relationships between literature and geography have been expanded by the recently emerged genre of geo-criticism. One of the future key-aspects arising from this approach may prove the study of the link between literary texts and maps, literature and cartography, whose observation has broken through in most Anglophone areas over the past twenty years. The aim of this paper is to start a reflection upon cartography as a possible literary genre, given the similarities between self-styled 'true' maps and fictional texts
