International audienceThe comparative study between funerary customs of native populations in southern Gaul of the Late Iron Age and those of the Greek colony of Massalia brings to light two distincts groups. It takes into account the utilization of the cemeteries according to the age at death, the location of the burials, treatment of bodies - inhumation and cremation - and disposal of their remains, as well as grave goods. The native customs are traditional and are neither altered nor modified by the contact with Greek settlers whatever the distance to the colonial settlements.
