Men's average pitch is around 120Hz, and women's around 240Hz (Vaissière, 2006). However, many speakers of both genders have an average F0 around 160Hz. In most of these cases, listeners can identify the speaker's gender. This is why we decided to conduct a case study of a man and a woman, both French speakers, in order to highlight potential significant differences in vowels production.
