International audienceThe present article focuses on Ulrich's dreams, the principal character of Musil's novel, The Man without Qualities. In this approach, his daydreams are an expression of a sense of possibility that conflicts, on the one hand, with the sense of reality and, on the other hand, with naïve idealism. They are real conscious utopias that Musil evaluate successively.
