Inventing the Future 2012 A Seminar for Inventors, Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Students and Professionals.Presented at Inventing the Future 2012, Saturday, April 21, 2012 Clough Commons Auditoriums, Georgia Institute of Technology.Part of: Invention In’s and Out’s: A Local Resources Panel.Cem Oruc is currently the Director of Commercialization Assistance at the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center providing consulting services to small businesses statewide regarding intellectual property, commercialization, technology transfer and capital formation. Cem has worked in pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmaceutical R&D, technology transfer, life sciences business incubation and technology commercialization. Previously, Cem was the Assistant Director at the Georgia Medical Center Authority, where he developed the Augusta BioBusiness Center, a life sciences business incubator. He worked as a Contracts Specialist at Emory University Office of Technology Transfer and was a Research Assistant for new vaccine development at Merial Limited. He has also served as a mentor for technology companies seeking investment in the WBT Showcase, as a mentor for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II commercialization plans and as a commercialization reviewer for the Florida Research Commercialization Assistance Grant Program. Cem is a Kauffman Foundation Fasttrac® Tech Venture ™ facilitator and holds a B.S. degree in Cellular Biology and an MBA from the University of Georgia
