International audienceThis paper wants to understand how much the Latin Oedipus is original in respect of the sophoclean tragic hero. We look the place and the function of his noun, and the way by which he is designed, then his physic features which make him so exceptional. We are aware of how Latin tragedy is focused on the character's inner conflict, of which passions are a powerful dramatic motor.
