10International audienceThe concept of landscape is of recent use among architects , and more generally for the city. The landscape is rather what effect , referring to nature, the countryside and is therefore opposed to the urban space. It is now recognized that the landscape is primarily a vision , an intellectual construction : the city is a landscape (urban) and buildings, their shapes are evaluated according to their contribution to the quality (coherence, harmony, unity ) of this landscape. The grand ensemble is the center of this evolution look , and somehow , he is also the victim. First positively perceived at the time of the first modernity , it is now reassessed negative. The disaffection of the grand ensemble actually comes from structural defects that refer to oblivion in its design, some universals of inhabited and urbanity . This article, based on an anthropological approach of the grand ensemble trying to identify them.Le concept de paysage est d'utilisation récente chez les architectes, et plus généralement pour la ville. Le paysage est en effet plutôt ce qui, en se référant à la nature, représente l'espace rural et donc s'oppose à l'espace urbain. On admet aujourd'hui que le paysage est d'abord un regard, une construction intellectuelle : la ville constitue un paysage (urbain) et les bâtiments, leur silhouette sont évalués en fonction de leur contribution à la qualité (cohérence, harmonie, unité) de ce paysage. Le grand ensemble est au centre de cette évolution du regard et, d'une certaine manière, il en est aussi la victime : d'abord positivement perçu à l'époque de la première modernité, il est aujourd'hui réévalué en négatif. La désaffection du grand ensemble vient en réalité de défauts structurels qui renvoient à l'oubli, dans sa conception, de certains universaux de l'habité et de l'urbanité. Le présent article, fondé sur une approche anthropo-architecturale du grand ensemble tente de les identifier
