Esse trabalho estudou o efeito da variação do carbono equivalente (3,90 e 4,20%) e da espessura (velocidade de resfriamento) na microestrutura e propriedades mecânicas de tração de ferros fundidos cinzentos de matriz perlítica (fundição de placas de espessura de 2,6 a 5,8 mm). A caracterização microestrutural das amostras retiradas das placas com diferentes espessuras foi realizada para a determinação do tamanho da célula eutética (TMCE), do espaçamento secundário dos braços de dendritas de austenita (SDAS), da fração e morfologia das lamelas de grafita, da fração de dendritas primárias, do diâmetro hidráulico interdendrítico (Dhyd) e do espaçamento interlamelar da perlita (?perlita).
