In the development of new high-energy LEDs, there is a great need for encapsulation materials that increase luminous efficacy while being thermally stable at high operating temperatures. Polysiloxanes are widely used as encapsulation materials due to their optical transparency, chemical inertness, thermal stability and resistance to radiation degradation.
