In April 2018 we released Blue Sky Outcomes: Reaffirming Public Higher Education at Maine’s Flagship University, the report of our assessment of the Blue Sky Strategic Plan. I was honored to have led the UMaine community through this yearlong examination of what was accomplished, where we fell short, and how we changed as an institution over the five years during which the plan served as a guide. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to review the report. I suspect that, like me, you will be amazed at the myriad ways in which our institution advanced as we fulfilled our research, education and service missions.
