Analisis Beban Mental Mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Ums Saat Dilaksanakan Pembelajaran Daring Selama Pandemi Dengan Metode Rating Scale Mental Effort (RSME)

The COVID-19 pandemic or more commonly known as the coronavirus pandemic is one of the problems currently being faced by the Indonesian people. This has caused the Indonesian government to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 to make various policies, including making policies to carry out all activities online, one example of which is teaching and learning activities. Changes in patterns that occur in the process of teaching and learning activities cause mental workload among students. This study aims to measure the level of the mental load of UMS engineering students, find out whether there are differences in the level of mental load, and provide suggestions for improvements to reduce the mental burden on students. The method used is the Mental Effort Rating Scale (RSME) and the Kruskal Wallis test. The results of the study are the order of the level of the mental load of FT UMS students from the highest, namely the indicator of work difficulty, the second is the work performance indicator, the third is the mental effort of work, the fourth is the mental workload, then work anxiety and the last is work fatigue, then there are differences Significant level of mental load between study programs with each other on each indicator that is contained in indicators of mental workload and work performance, as well as obtained several research improvement strategies that can be used to reduce the level of the mental load of FT UMS students. So that the results of the research can be used as an evaluation by the academic community of FT UMS, to reduce the level of mental burden experienced by FT UMS students
