Analisis Kesesuaian Lahan Untuk Pemukiman di Kecamatan Jatiyoso Kabupaten Karanganyar

The settlement growth due to population enchacement and finally give rise to density matter. The matter that oftenly happened is settlement construction without environment consider moreover the construction that destroy environment till dangerous for ourself and other. Jatiyoso Sub-district is the one of Sub-district in Karanganyar with average height 950 mdpl. Steep tilt of the slope and high rainfall intensity made so many dangerous landslide at that area. On 2012 until 2018 was recorded as much 42 times at 129 landslide spots in Jatiyoso Sub-district. Considering the number of the landslide frequency in Jatiyoso Sub-district, it was need a land evaluation for Settlement in that area. This research is using survey method which is taking a sample with purposive sampling. The sampling is based on the terrain unit map. The data processsing technique used is scaling that is decide the land suitability class to get suitable settlement land level in Jatiyoso Sub-district. The reserch result show there is 2 land suitability class for settlement in Jatiyoso Sub-district that is medium (III) and suitable (II). In the amount of 25% or 1.899 Ha in Jatiyoso Sub-district was classified in medium while 75% or 5.772 Ha in Jatiyoso Sub-district was classified in suitable. Land characteristicts with suitable classified have 3-8% slope with loamy clay texture, land stable condition, no flood potential, channel depth was less than 1 meter and good soil carrying capacity. Land inhibiting factors for medium classification are soil texture that is clay, risk of happening a soil mass movement, slope more than 30%
