Background: Hypertension is a chronic degenerative disease which is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Several studies have shown that decreased respiratory rate lowers blood pressure by stimulating cardiovascular reflexes. Relaxation therapy can be done to achieve balance in the body. The Purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of slow deep breathing exercise as a relaxation therapy on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients based on the available literature.
