Optimal Infant and young child feeding (IYCF) is critical for the growth and development of a child, while IYCF practices in Nigeria are insufficient. Currently, it is established that engaging fathers and using various education materials promote positive IYCF practices for infants; however, fathers’ reactions to IYCF recommendations are not well documented. Therefore, this research assessed the Alive & Thrive Nigeria intervention in the Kaduna State, investigating fathers’ reactions to IYCF recommendations, what motivated fathers to act upon these recommendations, and the effectiveness of community members and materials in promoting IYCF practices.
