The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between gender, adolescent life event stress, and family-of-origin adaptation. Subjects included 176 late adolescent youths from a small land grant college. Results demonstrated a significant relationship between gender and stress, but no significant relationship between gender and adaptation. Stress was a significant predictor of adaptation
