The study analyzes a current situation of bio-businesses in rural areas, selects promising bio-businesses and shows what contribution of the development of promising bio-businesses in rural areas could make. The study reveals that to be competitive, rural areas need to process more biomass into final products themselves. There are opportunities for better use of existing local resources and bio-waste.
