The master's thesis describes the research of the creation and application of texture-based bump maps on 3D models. The aim of the work is to find a way to speed up the rendering of models and reduce usage of computer resources while losing as little visual detail of the model as possible. Theoretical analysis and experimental research of the following texture maps were performed in the work: normal map, bump map, ambient occlusion.
