This paper provides a contribution to finite element studies for three phase transformers. The studies were performed using ANSYS Maxwell® 3D software, describing the simulation of a 1,5 MVA three-phase dry transformer. The transformer in question was analyzed under nominal, harmonic and unbalance conditions, in order to calculate essential parameters such as magnetic flux density, core loss, temperature and core loss density of a 1,5 MVA three phases dry-type transformer and making a comparison with manufacturer data. These data show that the finite element method (FEM) is a highly efficient tool for studies of complex geometries where the analytical solution is not easy to obtain.CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e T...
