National audienceThis article aims at analyzing the concept of career stages in the light of today's professional world in which professional evolutions seem to be much more erratic than in the past, as shown by the reactions of the 'Y generation' or the development of 'nomad careers'. The analysis is based on four ways of measuring the various stages of a career used in a survey based on a sample of 117 salespeople and sales managers in the '4murs' company working in the field of commercial distribution.
