This PhD thesis presents a patented innovative method for the detection of collective behaviors. Using fusion processes on data captured from a multi-sensor network, recent monitoring systems obtain the observation sequences of monitored people. This lower level of situation awareness was measured to be not enough to help the security forces during crowd events. In order to have an incremented situation awareness in these asymmetric environments, we propose a multi-agent approach reducing the problem complexity by agents on three levels - macro, meso and micro - of observations.
